Monarch’s Varsity Boys Lacrosse hosted the Gahanna Lincoln Lions last night. Marysville fell to Gahanna 4-10. The Monarch’s were keeping pace during the first period but lost momentum during the second and third. They were able to pick back up during the fourth. Numerous Monarch turnovers ended up hurting them in the end.
Mike Gingras went 62% and Matt Chalmers 40% on faces for the night. The Monarchs had a total of 31 shots on net but could only come up with 4 goals. Luke Peterson netted 2, Jack Peterson and Hunter Wilson each added 1. Midfielder Travis Geyer led with 3 defensive take aways and 8 ground balls. Defender Sam Essig picked up 8 ground balls and contributed 2 take aways.
Goalie Nate Golden was busy in the cage with 19 shots on goal which he saved 9.
The Monarchs are currently 3 for 4 on the season. They travel to Kettering Fairmount High School on Saturday.
