Below is communication that was sent via email to district families regarding after school events. Spring sports programs are still permitted to utilize indoor practice spaces if needed due to inclement weather.
We will continue to provide updates to this circumstance as needed. If you have questions, please contact the athletic office.
Situations and updates are occurring quickly with the coronavirus. Our district is monitoring the situation and collaborating with the Health Department regularly. Specifically, we are following the direction coming from the Office of the Governor of Ohio.
We’ve also created a page on our website for the most up-to-date information. Be sure to check it out at http://www.marysville.k12.oh.
Effective Thursday, March 12th, all after school, indoor events are canceled in our district until further notice. To clarify, students will only be permitted in the building during the regularly scheduled school day. Our SACC and BASE programs will remain fully operational. We will re-evaluate as new information and updates occur.
The only exceptions are indoor Ohio High School Athletic Association events. Per the OHSAA recommendations, sports and practices can proceed, but only immediate family will be allowed as spectators. Outdoor OHSAA events can proceed as planned for now. No off season weight training, conditioning, open gyms or anything of that nature should be taking place until further notice.
We fully understand some of these changes are less than ideal but we all play an important role in mitigating the spread of this disease. These are temporary measures which align to Governor Dewine’s protocols. In these situations, rumors tend to circulate quickly. We ask that you work only from first source information. We are in this together and appreciate your understanding as we navigate these unchartered waters.
